Electricity Liberalization

Before electricity liberalization, Japan had 10 vertically integrated utilities which were with for generation, transmission, distribution and retail in their own territories. The consumers had no options of electricity.

However, in March 2000, Japanese government deregulated the retail for special high voltage sector. As result, large commercial and industry customers got choices of electricity.

Furthermore, high voltage sector was open in 2004 to 2005 and and low voltage sector in 2016. Now, everyone in business and at home has a wide rang of options.

After deregulation, a lot of retailers joined the new marked. Shared Energy is one of those.
